Frozen Films Most Anticipated Movies Of 2012
Here’s my list of most anticipated films of 2012. As you’ll notice there are many great absences; that’s because i’ve made a truly personal list, deciding not to give much credit to critics magnifications of movies we all know nothing about yet. So i’m just following my instinct and my taste here and i’m keeping it simple with expositions/explanations, because there isn’t actually much to say yet. Titles will link you to the Imdb movie page.
1. Paul Thomas Anderson - The Master
Why? Because his movie There Will Be Blood is, in my opinion, one of the best films of all times. Oh! Jonny Greenwood (aka God) will score the soundtrack.
2. Jacques Audiard - Rust & Bone
Why? Because he wrote and directed A Prophet..one of the best films of the last 20 years at least. And also because Marion Cotillard is in it, and i love her.
3. Jeff Nichols - Mud
Why? Did you see Take Shelter and Shotgun Stories?!! Then don’t even ask why! And of course, Michael Shannon.
4. Ridley Scott - Prometheus
Why? Because the alien saga grew into a total disaster right after the third one, (Alien Resurrection (the fourth) was the beginning of the end..a total mess..then we had the blasphemic Alien Vs. Predators saga) and Ridley Scott is the only one who can bring Alien back to its initial splendour.
5. Walter Salles - On The Road
Why? Maybe because it’s the cinematographic transposition of one of the most influential novels ever written? Long live Beat Generation!
6. Kathryn Bigelow - Yet untitled thriller
Why? Kathryn Bigelow + Mark Boal..i mean..they made The Hurt Locker..
7. Rian Johnson - Looper
Why? In the future, time travel is banned but the mob still uses it to send targets back in time where they are eliminated by waiting assassins. When one of the mob’s killers (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) recognises his next target as himself (Bruce Willis), he’s presented with an obvious dilemma.
8. David Cronenberg - Cosmopolis
Why? Major excitement for any new Cronenberg’s film! A Dangerous Method wasn’t that good but i have high hopes for Cosmopolis! Robert Pattinson’s redemption as an actor?
9. Nicolas Windig Refn - Only God Forgives
Ya’ll know why.
10. Abbas Kiarostami - Like Someone In Love (aka The End)
Why? TASTE OF CHERRY.
Honorable mention: Wes Anderson’s Moonrise kingdom, John Hillcoat’s Wettest County and Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
