I think any serious artist can admire the specificity with which these small choices are made. After all, if art is to reflect life, it must reflect that ever-present reality that any image is an ever-divisible series of decisions reflected in color and form.
For the musician it is the introductions, the small accents, the slight changes, the tambour and resonance of a tone and all of their slight altercations and digressions that create the collection of moments that we may refer to as a song.
